London Calling

Prior to my recent visit to Milan and Salone del Mobile, I first travelled to London to spend a few days visiting design stores and fabric showrooms. It was a chance to see new collections before they were available here, so I thought I would share some highlights with you.

I treated myself to a stay at Number Sixteen, a Firmdale Hotel designed by Kit Kemp as I love everything she does. The hotel is in a great location, not far from the Kings Road, although I still walked more than 25,000 steps per day!

Day 1 - I started at one end of the King's Road, in Sloane Square and kept walking, visiting flagship showrooms such as Designer's Guild and Osborne and Little, and admiring the beautiful window displays along the way.

At the end of my journey was Chelsea Design Centre. I was overwhelmed with the sheer amount of design inspiration that surrounded me. The Centre is home to a wide variety of showrooms and galleries, each showcasing unique and innovative designs that are sure to leave a lasting impression.

I spent several hours exploring the different exhibits, taking in the latest trends and styles in the world of interior design. From contemporary furniture to traditional decor, there was something for everyone at the Chelsea Design Centre.

Day 2 - I went to Pimlico Road and explored the area, visiting places like Fermoie, Sloan, Chelsea Textiles, and Paolo Moschino.

I loved seeing all the decorated spaces with layers of pattern and colour in London and it certainly was inspiring being back out in the international world of design!

Until next time
