Our Ethos
Our philosophy is one of providing professional and personalised service based on the client's needs. We aim to create timeless interiors, based on your lifestyle, taste, and budget. We do not subscribe to a design formula and are proud of the fact that our work is not instantly recognisable but an extension of your personal style.
We take a hands-on approach - managing the entire design process from developing the initial concepts (including joinery/cabinetry design) through to selecting paint colours, window and floor coverings, furniture, artwork, and decorative objects.
At ABP, we deal directly with wholesale suppliers, importers, and manufacturers which enables us to keep up to date with the latest products and offer great pricing to our clients.
The Design Process
Below is a general outline of what our design process involves, however every client is unique, as is their project , so the process may vary slightly to benefit your project.
THE INQUIRY
After receiving your initial inquiry form, we will call to arrange to schedule our Initial Consultation.
INITIAL CONSULTATION & DEVELOPING THE BRIEF
The Initial Consultation is conducted at your home or project site. We meet with you to discuss your project, goals, priorities and needs for the space.
We also use this time to clarify your budget and to briefly discuss our fee structure. We will also collect as documentary information as possible in regards to your space. This can include photos on site, floor plans, initial measurements, as well as documenting any limitations that need to be taken into account.
SCOPE OF WORKS & FEE PROPOSAL
From the information gathered at the initial consultation ABP will prepare a:
scope of works; and
fee proposal
The Scope of Works is a checklist of all the interiors to be designed/decorated.
We will provide you with this documentation to consider and agreeing to the proposal is a binding contractual agreement between the client and ABP Interiors.
CREATING THE DESIGN - STUDIO WORKSHOP
On acceptance of our proposal, we will start to build a concept and outline the design direction.
We will start to develop furniture layouts, design any joinery, source any materials, fabrics, furniture and decorative elements. We will also start to build concept drawings to reflect our design vision.
CLIENT PRESENTATION
This is an important and exciting step in the design process. We will arrange to present our design concepts and schemes at your home or in our studio.
This may included preliminary joinery documentation, floor plans, furniture concepts and mood boards, which will include lighting, fabrics and images to convey our concept and selections.
Your feedback is essential and you also have time after the presentation to review the concept
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT & QUOTING THE PROJECT
Taking onboard your feedback, we will make changes and edit the design and selections. A final concept will be sent out for feedback and review.
With all design elements confirmed and approved, we will move into the quoting and specification documentation phase.
We will document and cost each element for your approval.
Tender documentation will be provided to trades / builders for quoting.
PROJECT ORDERING & COORDINATION
With all the concepts finalised and approved, we will move to the quoting and specification documentation phase.
We will document and cost each element for your approval.
We will co-ordinate the ordering of all items and manage the timelines for production, with delivery date determined.
We will undertake any site visits in regards to any construction and joinery elements of your project.
PROJECT INSTALLATION & STYLING
We will arrange the installation of any window treatments, hanging of wallpaper.
We will manage the delivery all the design elements to ensure everything arrives and add any finishing touches to your home.
PROJECT COMPLETION
We will walk through the space with you and solve any problems what have not already been addressed.
We know you will love your space, so if you are willing to share it with the ABP community, we will arrange a photoshoot.
